Congressman Charles Bass

I have long been a strong supporter of individuals' right to bear arms as recognized by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, and will work to oppose any action that encroaches on this important Constitutional right. I will do my part in Congress to preserve opportunities for New Hampshire sportsmen and gun enthusiasts.

-- National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011: I am a cosponsor of H.R. 822, which passed the House of Representatives on November 16, 2011. This legislation amends the federal criminal code to authorize a person carrying a government-issued photographic identification document and a valid permit to carry a concealed firearm in one state to carry a concealed handgun in another state in accordance with the restrictions of that state. H.R. 822 allows law-abiding gun owners to travel with a concealed weapon, promoting safety and peace of mind.

-- Sportsmen's Caucus: I am a proud member of the bipartisan Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus, one of the largest and most effective caucuses in the U.S. Congress. The Caucus is the sportsmen's ally and defender in Washington, promoting and protecting the rights of hunters, trappers, and anglers in New Hampshire and across the country.
