High school seniors who want to attend a U.S. Service Academy are required to secure a recommendation from a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives or U.S. Senate.
The U.S. Service Academies include:
- U.S. Air Force Academy
- U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
- U.S. Military Academy, West Point
- U.S. Naval Academy
We are now accepting applications for nominations to the U.S. Service Academies for the 2012-2013 academic year. Applications must be submitted to the address below by Friday, November 9, 2012 at 5:00PM CST. Late applications will not be accepted.
To apply for a U.S. Service Academy nomination from Congressman Jackson, you must:
- Complete the U.S. Service Academy Application. The application is a word document and will allow you to type your response in the blanks provided.
- Submit completed form and all required documents via mail or hand delivery to:

- You will be notified by phone or mail to confirm receipt of your application.
- Applications will be reviewed by a panel of community leaders and residents. If needed, you will be contacted for an interview. The entire application process will be conducted in a timely manner.
- All nominees will be notified by mail prior to the academies' due dates for submissions.
