The 2008 Farm Bill started a new era in agriculture by including funding for specialty crops, a renewable energy title, permanent disaster relief, and increased funding for conservation programs for farmers and ranchers. "We want to make sure we are paying farmers to farm," Salazar said about the farm bill. "I will always work to preserve Colorado’s rural heritage and to me this means protecting and preserving agriculture." |
