The cost of energy contributes to the price of nearly every good and service in the United States.  That is why I strongly oppose cap and trade legislation which will cost every household in Missouri’s 9^th District approximately $1,700 per year.

I support an “all of the above” energy policy to end our dependence on foreign oil. I support increasing domestic exploration for oil, streamlining the permitting process for new oil refineries in America and investing in biofuels, alternative fuels, clean coal and nuclear technology. With today’s science, we can make these critical advances in domestic energy production in a fiscally sound and environmentally sensitive manner. This is a much wiser course for our nation to pursue than a national energy tax.
