Salazar announces grant to improve wildlife control fencing at Steamboat Springs/Bob Adams Field

Washington, D.C. – Congressman John Salazar today announced a grant of $48,693.00 to provide funding to install the first phase of airport perimeter fencing at the Steamboat Springs Airport/Bob Adams Field. Currently, the existing perimeter fence does not provide adequate wildlife control. A new perimeter fence will control wildlife access to the aircraft operating areas and will be more efficient to maintain.

“I hope this funding will help the Steamboat Springs Airport in its goal of providing adequate wildlife control and safe and efficient air service for residents and pilots in Routt County,” said Congressman Salazar. “I will continue to work to provide necessary funding for projects that will improve safety for our local airports.”

For information on this project please contact Ms. Wendy DuBord, Interim City Manager, City of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, (970) 879-2060.
