WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Congressman John Salazar announced the following public events in Durango and Silverton, Colorado:

Shenandoah Dives Mill in Silverton – Friday, October 8th at 10:15 a.m.
WHO: U.S. Congressman John T. Salazar, Bev Rich Chairman San Juan County Historical Society, Commissioner Terry Rhoades Steve Fearn of the SWWCD board, and San Juan Historical Society Board Members

WHAT:  Announcement of federal funding for restoration and stabilization work at the Shenandoah Dives Mill in Silverton.  The Silverton Mill is an important economic driver and tourism draw for the area.

WHERE: Shenandoah-Dives Mill, 135 County Road 2, Silverton, Colorado

Hermosa Creek/Perins Peak Animas City Announcement – Friday, October 8th at 2 p.m.
WHO: U.S. Congressman John T. Salazar, Mayor Michael Rendon of Durango, Mayor Pro Tem Christina Rinderle Thompson of Durango, City Council Member Leigh Meggs, and Commissioner Joelle Riddle, Division of Wildlife area Manager Patt Dorsey, State Senator Bruce Whitehead.

WHAT:  Congressman Salazar will be making news with an announcement concerning Hermosa Creek, Perins Peak Animas City Mountain.
