Rep. Salazar Receives 2008 Congressional Partnership Award for Community and Economic Development Efforts

 
 

 

Washington, DC – Rep. John T. Salazar has been awarded the 2008 Congressional Partnership Award from the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) for outstanding leadership in promoting federal community, economic and infrastructure development programs. Representative Salazar was nominated for the award by the Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado.
 
NADO President Leanne Mazer (Cumberland, MD) stated, “Rep. Salazar is a true leader who has displayed an unwavering commitment to providing new economic opportunities for our nation’s local communities. Most importantly, Rep. Salazar understands that federal programs for basic infrastructure, small business development, job creation and comprehensive economic development planning are essential for the long-term competitiveness of our local communities.”
 
Upon receiving the NADO award, Congressman Salazar expressed his thanks and a continued commitment to promote sustainable growth and development. “I’m honored to receive this award from NADO,” he stated. “I will continue to support healthy community development and those organizations working to create economic opportunities for rural Colorado residents.”
