Salazar calls on Coloradoans to support President Obama in the task that lies ahead
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today Congressman John Salazar joined other representatives in the nation’s capitol to witnesses the inauguration of President Barack Obama. Following the ceremony he released the following statement:
“Today I joined many of you who watched as President Barack Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. It is an historic day, one of the most memorable and powerful of my lifetime and an unforgettable chapter in the American story.

“Having had the opportunity to work with our new President both in Congress and on the campaign trail I can tell you that our nation is led by a man of great wisdom, courage and the determined spirit that marks our history. I know he will work tirelessly to strengthen our country so that it will continue to grow and prosper.
“But President Obama and Vice-President Biden cannot stand alone in this effort. We must all join in the new era of responsibility the President described during today’s inaugural address, not only for our own well being, but for the well being of our friends, neighbors and for the nation as a whole.”
