Congressman Salazar announces $946,631in federal funding to repair decaying air carrier ramp at Grand Junction Regional Airport

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Congressman John Salazar announced that $ 946,631 in federal funding has been allocated to combat infrastructure degradation at the Grand Junction Regional Airport. Specifically, this funding will go to help reconstruct a portion of the existing air carrier ramp at the airport. The reconstruction of the ramp is necessary due to deterioration beyond repair caused by alkali-silica reactivity.

On this provision, Congressman Salazar offered the following statement:

“Grand Junction Regional Airport is a lifeline between Mesa County and the rest of the world. It is an increasingly crucial link for families, friends and commerce.  I’m glad this funding will help keep that lifeline strong. I will continue to support projects like these, projects that strengthen our infrastructure and put people to work.”

For information on the project contact Mr. Rex Tippets, Director of Aviation, Grand Junction Regional Airport, Grand Junction, Colorado, (970) 244-9100.
