Each semester and during the summer months, Congressman John Salazar offers unpaid internship opportunities in his Washington D.C. office. Typical duties include investigating constituent requests, drafting correspondence, answering telephones, entering data, greeting visitors, giving tours of the Capitol, assisting press/legislative/administrative staff, attending hearings, and aiding the Congressman directly.

Interns may also be assigned longer-term research projects depending on the applicant’s qualifications and availability. A qualified candidate must have exceptional communication, computer, and administrative skills. Energetic self-starters looking for hands-on experience are encouraged to apply.
