PALLONE TO MEET WITH SAVE SANDY HOOK LATER THIS WEEK TO EXPLORE NEXT STEP ON FORT HANCOCK

U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) issued the following statement today regarding the National Park Service's decision Friday to sign a lease agreement with Wassel to redevelop Fort Hancock at Sandy Hook.

"The National Park Service has informed me that I'll receive a copy of the lease agreement in the next couple of days. I'll meet with members of Save Sandy Hook later this week to read through the final agreement and to discuss possible options for our next step in opposing the agreement.

"We must also address the way the National Park Service has handled this project from a procedural standpoint since the very beginning. The process was plagued by the Park Service's unwillingness to provide all information to the public. To reverse this unfortunate history, I urge the National Park Service to make all funding information available to me immediately."
