Long Branch, NJ --- With the Rutgers University Women's Basketball Team headed to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Women's Basketball Championship Game tomorrow night, U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr., who represents Rutgers University, made a friendly wager today with U.S. Rep. John Duncan (R-TN), who represents the University of Tennessee, on the outcome of the game.
If Rutgers University is victorious, Duncan pledges to give Pallone a basket of products manufactured in Tennessee. However, if the University of Tennessee wins tomorrow night, Pallone will send something unique to Rutgers to his Tennessee colleague. The New Jersey congressman has pledged to treat Duncan to several "fat cat" sandwiches from RU's "grease trucks" and a case of Jersey tomatoes grown on Rutgers' campus.
The online encyclopedia Wikipedia describes Fat Cats as popular sub style sandwiches that are sold in areas surrounding Rutgers University in New Jersey. "These sandwiches are famous the world over and have appeared on Food Network TV shows many times. A Fat Cat is composed of two cheeseburgers stuffed into a sub roll with lettuce, tomato, French fries, ketchup and mayo."
"This has been a special season for C. Vivian Stringer and her Scarlet Knights," Pallone said. "Over the last three weeks, basketball fans across the nation witnessed a Scarlet Knight team that prides itself on its stifling defense. I look forward to watching tomorrow night's game and then celebrating a Rutgers victory with some treats from my friends in Tennessee." |
