Pallone Opposes Lawsuit to Overturn Health Care Reform

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr., released the following statement Monday in support of the Lesniak-Vitale resolution urging Governor Christie not to join in a lawsuit to block federal health care reform.

“I support the Lesniak-Vitale resolution in support of health care reform for New Jersey and urge Governor Christie not to join in a lawsuit to block the federal health reform law. Last month, the governor announced he was able to avert cuts to the Seniors Gold/PAAD program – which was made possible by federal money provided in health care reform. Overturning this law would be a huge step in the wrong direction for New Jersey.

“On Thursday the first round of $250 checks were sent to 80,000 seniors across the country to help them pay for prescription drugs. Overturning health care reform would take away this assistance for seniors as well as other provisions that will begin to take effect allowing millions of New Jerseyans access to health care where they otherwise would not. Health care reform is good for America and it’s good for New Jersey.”
