National Defense

I’ve met with many of the troops from my district who have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, and they agree that the War on Terror can be won if they are given the funding and tools to complete the mission.  I have and will continue to vote to increase funding for our troops to make sure they have the adequate resources to carry out their mission, both at home and abroad.  I will also continue to support legislation that works to improve the quality of life for our servicemen and women, as well as our veterans, who have so bravely serve and currently serve this country.  Our nation relies on the commitment of all of our soldiers who are both on active duty and in the reserves.  For these reasons, I serve on the National Guard and Reserve Components Caucus, the Congressional Shipbuilding Caucus, and the Air Force Caucus.
