Constituent Tour Requests

As a member of Congress, I am able to request Congressional tours of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the Capitol building, the Kennedy Center, and the White House on your behalf.  These tours are free of charge.  Please view the touring information below before submitting your request.

I can also provide you with a Gallery pass to view the Senate in session.  Please indicate this on your tour request form.

Congressional tours are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, therefore, I suggest that you contact my staff with the requested information as soon as your travel plans have been finalized. Congressional tours can be filled up as early as three months prior to the tour date.

Please make your tour request via fax or mail.  Please note that due to security reasons, mail is screened off-site and may not reach the office until 3-4 weeks later.

Feel free to download and complete the provided tour request form below in either Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format.

The White House does not offer public tours.

Congressional offices may submit tour requests to the White House up to six months in advance, and the White House will not accept tour requests later than 35 days prior to the requested tour date.  White House tours fill up quickly, and are on a first come, first served basis.  It is highly recommended that requests be submitted six months in advance, as there are a limited number of spaces available.  Please include your email address on your tour request form, so a White House security form may be provided to you.  The White House requests security information for every visitor that wishes to tour the White House.  Please note that Congressional offices are only able to request tours from the White House, and have no part in the decision to grant or deny tour requests.  Sometimes the White House may not inform us of the status of the requested tour until two weeks prior to the tour date.  White House tours are self guided.

On September 4, 2009, President Obama announced that visitor access records to the White House Complex will be made publicly available 90-120 days after the date of visit.  This policy includes all guests touring the White House.  Please be aware that your full name and the date of your visit will be part of the publicly released records.  Your date of birth, Social Security Number and other personal information provided will not be released.

All tours are significantly enhanced if visitors stop by the White House Visitor Center located at the southeast corner of 15th and E Streets, before or after their tour.  The Center is open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and features many aspects of the White House, including its architecture, furnishings, first families, social events, and relations with the press and world leaders, as well as a thirty-minute video.  Allow between 20 minutes to one hour to explore the exhibits.  The White House Historical Association also sponsors a sales area.  Please note that restrooms are available, but food service is not.
