            WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Kit Bond today released the following statement congratulating President Obama and Korean President Lee Myung-bak for their efforts to reach an agreement on the U.S-Korea Free Trade Agreement announced today by the Obama Administration:

 

            “This agreement, though long overdue, is an important step forward in the effort to repair our damaged economy,” said Bond. “As we learned today, our unemployment rate is moving in the wrong direction and I congratulate President Obama and President Lee for their efforts. Congress should act quickly to ratify this agreement which Obama Administration officials agree has the potential to create tens of thousands of new jobs.”
