H.R. 1, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, is a $789.5 billion legislative package designed to create jobs and spur economic activity. The legislation was signed into law by President Obama on February 17, 2009 and it has generated substantial economic activity throughout our nation, our state and our district.

President Obama committed the federal government to transparency in the implementation of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Toward this end, a Web site has been created so everyone can track how the stimulus money is spent.
The State of Illinois has a web site to track recovery projects in our state.
