House Passes the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act

12/2/2010 - The U.S. House of Representatives today passed S. 3307, the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act, by a vote of 267 yeas to 157 noes.  This legislation aims to improve children’s access to healthy and nutritious meals, implement new school food safety guidelines and establish nutrition standards for all foods sold in schools.  S. 3307 will increase access to nutritious meals by increasing federal school lunch reimbursement rates, making approximately $182,000 eligible to Guam to improve school lunches.
