Peterson of Minnesota and members of the House Agriculture Committee in Harrisburg for a hearing to review dairy policy challenges and opportunities. The Committee heard testimony from the Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture, a professor of agriculture economics, and a panel of witnesses representing dairy farmers and processors in Pennsylvania.

January 21, 2010: Rep. Holden and Rep. Bob Latta (R-OH), held a press conference discussing H.R. 4466, the State and Local Law Enforcement Hatch Act of 2010. Members of the National Sheriffs' Association were present to support the bill.

 

January 11, 2010: Congressman Holden announces a $2.4 million Department of Defense appropriation for the Pennsylvania National Guard. The money will be used for the construction of a Machine Gun Training System at Fort Indiantown Gap. The Congressman is joined by Pennsylvania National Guard's Deputy Adjutant Generals, Brigadier General Jerry Beck and Major General Stephen Sischo.

 

Harrisburg University - January 8, 2010: Congressman Holden announces a congressional appropriation for Harrisburg University of Science & Technology. The $400,000 from the U.S. Department of Education will be used for curriculum development and laboratory upgrades, including the purchase of equipment and technology.

 

Dauphin Human Services - January 6, 2010: Congressman Holden announces a congressional appropriation for Dauphin County Human Services. The $300,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice will be used for the expansion of Family Group Conferencing (FGC) in Dauphin County.

 

Downtown Intermodal - January 6, 2010: Congressman Holden announces a congressional appropriation for the Harrisburg Transportation Center. The $400,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation will be used for mechanical and electrical repairs and upgrades; HVAC repairs and upgrades; structural repairs, and passenger platform safety upgrades.
