Tickets for DC Tours
Please be advised that a limited number of tickets are provided to each Member of Congress and are given out on a first come, first served basis. If you wish to obtain tickets, please call or write me at (202) 225-6616 or 2104 Rayburn HOB, Washington, DC, 20515.


Bureau of Engraving and Printing: 14th and C Streets, SW. See how U.S. currency and stamps are printed. Tours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., leaving every 10 minutes. Closed on weekends and federal holidays. Phone: (202) 622-2000. Metro Stop: Smithsonian.


White House Tours (1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Tours of the Executive Residence are given to parties of 10 or more, with at least four months of advanced notice. All requests must be submitted through my office.


United States Capitol Capitol Hill. Tours are conducted March through August on Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m., and Sunday, 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. During September through February, tours are conducted Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-3:45 p.m. The line for tours is located on East Front Drive on the House side. Private Staff Tours of the Capitol:


At this time, private staff-led tours are available on a first come, first served basis for groups of 15 or less. Please call (202) 225 6616 for reservations. The Capitol is also open for public tours every Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tours are for 40 visitors each, offered every 10 minutes. Tickets can be arranged by calling our office at (202) 225-6616. Metro Stop: Capitol South or Union Station.


School Group Tours of the Capitol

While the staff does guide large school groups, we must be notified at least 5 months in advance of your arrival date to make appropriate arrangements. However, the Capitol Guide Service will accommodate a small number of reserved SCHOOL GROUP TOURS daily. The maximum size per group for the CGS is 40 individuals. This can be done easily if large school groups are split into several sets of students. These tours must be scheduled through the Washington Office, (202) 226 8406.


These Washington sites do not require tickets but it is suggested that you arrive early to beat the crowd.


Arlington House, Custis-Lee Mansion: Open daily, October through March, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and April through September, 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Admission fee.Information (703) 557-0613. Metro Stop: Arlington Cemetery (Tourmobile Sightseeing Transportation available).


Arlington National Cemetery Open daily, October through March, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and April through September, 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the amphitheater, the Custis-Lee Mansion and the graves of Presidents John F. Kennedy and William Howard Taft. Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier occurs every hour on the hour during winter months, and every half hour during the summer months. Dumbarton Oaks 1703 32nd Street, NW. Gardens open daily, 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Art museum open Tuesday through Sunday after April 1st, 2p.m.-5:00 p.m. Both are closed on federal holidays. Admission fee to gardens. Information: (202) 339-6401.

Holocaust Memorial Museum 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, SW (formerly 15th Street between Maine and Independence Avenues). Open daily, 10:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tickets available in limited quantity on a first-come, first-served basis for same-day passes. Iwo Jima Memorial: Edge of Arlington Cemetery, Northern Virginia. Open 24 hours daily. Memorial is a tribute to Marines who have lost their lives while serving the United States of America. Metro Stop: Rosslyn


Jefferson Memorial South Bank of the Tidal Basin. Open 24 hours daily. At the Swan Boathouse you can rent a paddleboat to cruise the Basin. Metro Stop: Smithsonian.


John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts New Hampshire Avenue at Rock Creek Parkway, NW. Tours, leaving every 20 minutes and lasting 45 minutes, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Visitors should go to the Tour Lounge, Parking Level A. Lincoln Memorial West Potomac Park at the foot of 23rd Street, NW. Open 24 hours daily. Metro Stop: Smithsonian.


Mount Vernon Sixteen miles south of Washington, DC, at the south end of the George Washington Parkway. Home of George Washington. Opens 8:00 a.m. April through August and 9:00 a.m. September through March. Entrance gates close 5:00 p.m. March through October and 4:00 p.m. November through February. Admission fee. National Gallery of Art Constitution Avenue, between 3rd and 7th Streets, NW. The main building and I.M. Pei’s magnificent east building house the nations art treasures and are connected by an underground concourse. The National Gallery encompasses all aspects of the visual arts. Open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays, 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Metro Stop: Archives and Judiciary Square or Smithsonian.


National Visitors Center: 1400 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, located in the Treasury building. Information: (202) 622-0889. Metro Stop: Farragut West.


The Octagon House 18th and New York Avenue, NW. Architectural exhibits. Served as President James Madison’s White House following the destruction of the real White House by the British in 1814. The Treaty of Ghent ending the War of 1812 was signed here. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Information: (202) 638-3105. Metro Stop: Farragut West.


The Pentagon Located across the 14th Street Bridge in Virginia. Open Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Closed on weekends and federal holidays. An adult must accompany visitors under 16, and visitors over 16 must show a photo ID. Supreme Court 1st Street and Maryland Avenue, NE. Tours are available Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. when court is not in session. When court is in session, tours are only given on Thursdays and Fridays. To see court in session, line up outside the building; lines start forming about 8:30 a.m., so get there early. No tours are given during the month of August. Public lectures are conducted in the courtroom from 9:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. when court is not in session. Phone: (202) 479-3000. Tourmobile Service The National Park Service has concessionaire-operated guided tourmobiles that travel from Capitol Hill to Arlington Cemetery and points in between with unlimited reboarding privileges the day of ticket purchase. Daily, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Information (202) 554-7950


Treasury Department 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Vietnam Veterans Memorial Near the Lincoln Memorial at Henry Bacon Drive and Constitution Avenue, NW. Open 24 hours daily. Constructed of black granite, the wall honors all Americans who served in the Vietnam War. As a special tribute to those who did not return, the names of more than 58,000 who gave their lives or who remain missing are inscribed on the Memorial’s wall in chronological order. Washington Monument On the Mall at 15th Street, NW.
