Congresswoman Bordallo Visits Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy
Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo recently visited the Midshipmen from Guam who are currently enrolled at the United States Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, Maryland. There are nine residents from Guam attending the USNA in preparation for their service as officers in the U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps. Congresswoman Bordallo was greeted by Vice Admiral Michael H. Miller, Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy, and viewed the noon formation before joining the Midshipmen for lunch in King Hall. While at lunch, the Midshipmen asked Congresswoman Bordallo to deliver a get-well-soon card to Corpsman Stephen “Ted” Librando, who was injured by an enemy IED during his tour in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Congresswoman Bordallo also toured the Bridge Simulator which is used to train Midshipmen to control and maneuver the various ships used by the U.S. Navy.
“I always look forward to visiting our young men and women from Guam attending the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland,” said Congresswoman Bordallo. “Our Midshipmen are working hard and they are all looking forward to their careers in the Navy or Marine Corps. I commended them for their dedication and told them that our community appreciates their service to our nation.”
