Congresswoman Bordallo Attends Screening of HBO’s “The Pacific” with President Obama

 

Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo today attended a preview screening of HBO’s new mini- series, “The Pacific”, at the White House.  President Barack Obama hosted Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, and Gary Goetzman, producers of “The Pacific”; the Joint Chiefs of Staff; General Jim Jones, National Security Advisor; and Members of Congress at today’s event in the White House movie theatre.  The screening was also attended by senior members of Congress such as Congressman John Dingell, Dean of the House of Representatives, House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton, U.S. Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, as well as Congressman Eni Faleomavaega of American Samoa. 

 “This evening’s screening of HBO’s ‘The Pacific’ showcased the sacrifice and courage of our service members during the War in the Pacific and brings renewed attention the strategic value of Guam,” Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo said today. “President Obama was a gracious host and told me that he was looking forward to visiting Guam next week.”
