Christopher Borja selected to U.S. House of Representatives Page Program

Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo today announced the selection of Christopher Borja to the U.S. House of Representatives Page Program for the 2010 Fall Semester.  Christopher was nominated by Congresswoman Bordallo and was appointed as Page by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Christopher is currently a junior at Father Duenas Memorial School where he maintains a 4.0 Grade Point Average and is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, 350.org student club, and Junior Varsity Rugby team.  He is also an avid guitar, trumpet, and piano player and is an active parishioner and volunteer at the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral Basilica. Christopher is the son of Michael and Juliana Borja of Barrigada.

As a Congressional Page, Christopher will assist House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congressional leadership by carrying out administrative and logistical support on the House Floor and within the Capitol Complex.  He will attend the Congressional Page School housed within the Library of Congress, where he will receive high school credit and will reside in the Page Residence Hall a few blocks away from the Capitol. Previous Congressional Pages nominated by Congresswoman Bordallo include Jon Junior Calvo (2004), Breanna Lai (2007), and Liesl Alexis Flores (2009). The 2010 Fall Semester runs from September 6, 2010 through January 21, 2011.

“I congratulate Christopher Borja on his selection to the U.S. House of Representatives Page Program,” Congresswoman Bordallo said today.  “Christopher is an exceptional student and will make an excellent addition to the Page Program.  As a Page, Christopher will have a rare opportunity to be a part of the inner workings of the U.S. House of Representatives and will experience firsthand the legislative process of our Federal government.  I look forward to seeing Christopher while he is in Washington, D.C., and I am confident he will take full advantage of this learning opportunity.”
