Forbes, Modeling and Simulation Caucus Members to Attend 4th Annual M&S; Leadership Summit in Norfolk

Washington, D.C., Jan 29, 2009 - Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04) will attend the 4th Annual Modeling and Simulation Leadership Summit on Monday, February 2, 2009 in Norfolk Virginia.  The M&S Leadership Summit, hosted by the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) and in cooperation with the Congressional Modeling and Simulation Caucus, will bring together key leaders from government, industry, and academia to advise policy makers on issues related to the M&S industry. 

Who:

  • Congressman Randy Forbes (VA-04), M&S Caucus Founder and Chairman
  • Congressman Robert C. “Bobby” Scott (VA-03), M&S Caucus Member
  • Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01), M&S Caucus Member
  • Modeling and Simulation leaders from government, industry, and academia  

What:

A leadership summit to develop M&S policy goals at the federal, state, and local level.  The 2009 Summit will highlight regional M&S initiatives across the country and will focus on using M&S capabilities to accelerate national economic recovery, and re-establish our nation's scientific, technological and industrial leadership in the 21st Century. 

 

When:

Monday, February 2, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., with Congressional panel from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

 

Where:

Waterside Marriott, 235 E. Main Street, Norfolk, VA

Along with a Congressional panel, the Summit will also include four regional panels - Northeast/Atlantic Region, Southeast/SouthCentral Region, Southwest & Midwest Region, and Far West Region – which will highlight regional initiatives that have been successful, initiatives that have successfully brought together a wide range M&S players in a region, and policy issues key to furthering M&S technology.  For more information on the M&S Leadership Summit, including an agenda and directions, visit the NTSA Web site at http://www.trainingsystems.org/events/index.cfm.
