Congressman J. Randy Forbes is hosting an Online Safety Forum to be held at John Tyler Community College, Chester Campus, on Thursday, May 28th at 7:00 p.m.  The Online Safety Forum is free and open to any individual in the Fourth District who is interested in gaining information and tips on how parents can best protect their children online. 

 

 

WHO:

Congressman Randy Forbes, all interested constituents in the Fourth District, a representative from the Virginia Attorney’s General Office, a local official from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, a representative from the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and testimony from a victim of an online predator.

 

WHAT:

“Online Safety Forum.” An interactive, hands-on forum to discuss online safety and ways to prevent becoming a victim of an online predator.  Experts from organizations who specialize in online safety for children will be on hand to walk parents through “real-life” situations and specific examples of what children have access to while online, as well as tips for keeping them safe.  The forum will also feature testimony of a victim of an online predator who will share her experience.  

 

WHEN:

Thursday, May 28th at 7:00 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.  Check-in will begin at 6:45 p.m.

Travel I-95
Take the Chester Exit 61-B
Go to the first traffic light and turn left onto Jefferson Davis Highway
Travel through two traffic lights
John Tyler Community College will be the next left
 

From I-295
Travel I-295
Take the Chester Exit 15-B; travel Route 10 approximately 4 miles continuing under the I-95 overpass
Continue straight to the first traffic light past the I-95 overpass
Turn left onto Jefferson Davis Highway; travel through two traffic lights
John Tyler Community College will be the next left
 

From Route 288, South
Travel Route 288 South
Take the first Jefferson Davis Highway exit (south)
Continue straight on Jefferson Davis Highway through five traffic lights
John Tyler Community College will be the next left
