Mike Rogers

Ranking Member Mike Rogers was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2002 representing Alabama’s 3rd Congressional District. As Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Emergency Communications, Preparedness and Response, Rogers work to improve emergency communications and interoperability for first responders, emergency management grant programs, and federal, state, local and private disaster response and recovery efforts.

Prior to coming to Congress, Rogers served on the Calhoun County Commission in Alabama. While serving on the Commission and working for the United Way, Rogers enrolled at the Birmingham School of Law along with his wife, Beth. Upon graduating with honors, he began a general law practice in Anniston. Three years later he started his own firm, which grew to become Anniston's largest.

In addition to his duties for the Committee on Homeland Security, Rogers also serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Agriculture.


Jurisdiction: Interoperability and other emergency communications; first responders; FEMA; emergency management grant programs; and federal, state, local and private sector preparedness, response, mitigation and recovery efforts.
