IU News: Administrative Offices

Surgeon general of the U.S. Navy to address graduates at IU Bloomington's 2010 Winter Commencement    Vice Admiral Adam M. Robinson Jr., surgeon general of the U.S. Navy, chief of its Bureau of Medicine and Surgery and an Indiana University alumnus, will address graduates at IU Bloomington's 2010 Winter Commencement on Dec. 18.

Women's Philanthropy Council established at Indiana University    The IU Foundation has announced the founding of the first Women's Philanthropy Council. Its mission is to lead fundraising and engagement efforts that inspire women to give of their time, talent and resources to the university and to develop women leaders in philanthropy.

In the spirit of Herman Wells, IU expands partnerships with Germany's top research universities    More than 60 years after its legendary 11th president, Herman Wells, helped establish a "free university" in post-World War II Berlin, Indiana University announced today (Dec. 2) that it has renewed and expanded cooperative agreements with that institution as well as another of Germany's leading research universities.

McRobbie, Chancellor Harris greet President Obama, Vice President Biden in Kokomo    President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden visited Kokomo today as part of their Main Street Tour to recognize the positive impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. They also met with IU President Michael McRobbie and IU Kokomo Chancellor Michael Harris.

IU appoints Schunk as associate vice president for procurement    Indiana University has appointed Jill M. Schunk as associate vice president for procurement, effective Dec. 10, 2010. Schunk will succeed Associate Vice President Lorelei Meeker who is retiring after 33 years of service to the university.
