The following is general visitor information for some of the
most popular sites in the Washington D.C. area:
Tourism Information
The
Smithsonian Institution
Admission to Smithsonian museums and the National Zoo in Washington,
D.C., is free. They are open every day of the year except
December 25th. The museums are open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
except the Anacostia Museum which closes at 5 p.m. Extended
summer hours are determined annually. Phone: Daily 24-hour

Washington
National Cathedral
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On weeknights during
the summer (May 1 through Labor Day), the nave level remains
open until 9 p.m. Guided tours are available. Phone: (202)

Arlington
National Cemetery
Open daily October through March from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and
April through September from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Changing of
the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier every hour on
the hour and every half hour during the summer months.
Bureau
of Engraving and Printing
Public tickets for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing are granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The ticket booth is open at 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and closes when all tickets have been distributed.
The Visitors Center ticket booth is located at 14th and C Streets, SW. Rules and restrictions on placing
a request with the BEP vary depending on the time of year. Please visit the Bureau
of Engraving and Printing website for more information on public tours. If you are interested in a Congressional
tour of the BEP, please contact Senator Kohl's office to submit such a request.
Federal
Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
Currently closed to the public.
Holocaust
Memorial Museum
Open 10 a.m to 5:30 p.m. daily. 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place,
S.W. Timed tickets are required for the Permanent Exhibition
and may be obtained by calling 1-800-400-9373. Free same-day
tickets are available beginning at 10 a.m. at the museum.
Closed Christmas Day and Yom Kippur.
John
F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
Public tours run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekends. 2700 F Street, N.W. Visitors

Mount
Vernon
Home of George Washington, located in Alexandria, VA. Open
April through August from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and September through
March from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Open daily including Christmas.
Admission: Adults-$8.00, Senior Citizens (62 and older)-$7.50,
Children ages 6 to 11-$4.00, Children 5 and under are free.

National
Archives
Open daily September through March from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.,
10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April to June and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. June
through September. The National Archives is open every day
except December 25th.
Pentagon
All guided tours of the Pentagon are free and available by reservation only. Tours are conducted Monday
through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tours are not conducted on weekends or federal holidays. A request
for a tour of the Pentagon may be submitted through Senator Kohl's office. The Pentagon requires a minimum of 14
days and will accept requests placed as early as 90 days prior to a tour request. The Pentagon requires
that visitors provide their full name, date of birth, and place of birth.
U.S.
Supreme Court
Public tours run 9:30 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. each weekday
when arguments are not being held. Public tours run every
hour on the half hour. 1st and East Capitol Streets, N.E.

Library
of Congress
Tours are offered at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 1:30, 2:30,
and 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday in the Great Hall of the Thomas
Jefferson Building. Saturday public tours are offered at 10:30
and 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Tours are limited to
50 people. For more information on guided tours, ask at either
of the information desks in the Visitors' Center of the Jefferson
