African-American Pioneers in Congress
Ask students to locate three dates that focus on Black Americans who served in Congress. Use the Black Americans in Congress Web site, http://baic.house.gov to research more about each of these Members.

Civil Rights Movement
Ask students to select three highlight dates which encompass civil rights. Have students explain the role of each date in the Civil Rights Movement.
