WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congress voted to extend tax cuts for middle class families.  Congresswoman McCarthy released the following statement following the vote:

“On Long Island, middle class families are struggling and being forced to make difficult choices.  My constituents face higher than average taxes and cost of living compared to the rest of the country. 

With unemployment and foreclosure rates at such a high level, now is not the time to let these tax cuts expire, especially for our middle income families who are already struggling to maintain their homes and put food on the table.”
