Project Title: Collocated Chapel/Family Support Center
Recipient: United States Air Force
Amount: $13,800,000
Location: McChord Air Force Base, Washington

Purpose: To construct a new Chapel and Airman/Family Readiness Center (AFRC) at McChord Air Force Base.

Importance: This funding would improve quality of life for Airmen and their families by replacing deteriorating Chapel and family support buildings with larger, modern facilities at the placed at the heart of the base community.   Existing chapel buildings are located close to the flight line at McChord AFB, exposing worship services to high noise levels and airfield odors.

Project Title: Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) Facility
Recipient: United States Air Force
Amount: $3,500,000
Location: Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington

Purpose: To construct a cutting edge Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) facility at Fairchild AFB.

Importance: This funding would replace the hazardous and energy-inefficient building currently used for repairs to sensitive equipment and calibrations at Fairchild AFB with a new state-of-the- art facility, allowing Airmen to conduct their missions more safely, efficiently, and economically.

Project Title: SERE Force Support Complex, Phase 2
Recipient: United States Army
Amount: $14,000,000
Location: Fairchild AFB, Washington

Purpose: To allow phase 2 of the Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) School construction program at Fairchild Air Force Base by building a new SERE Force Support Facility for the 22d Training Squadron.

Importance: This funding would replace aged and ill-equipped buildings used to support the SERE mission to train U.S. military personnel to avoid, resist and escape from capture.  The construction of new SERE support facility would facilitate this critical training for servicemembers during a time of war.

Project Title: SOF Military Working Dogs (MWD) Kennel
Recipient: United States Army
Amount: $3,920,000
Location: Fort Lewis, Washington

Purpose: To construct a secure, modern kennel complex for Special Forces Military Working Dogs at Fort Lewis.

Importance: This funding would replace the current undersized facility with a modern Military Working Dogs kennel, including expanded training facilities, advanced security features and energy efficient design.  Military Working Dogs help keep servicemembers safe by performing vital tasks such as detecting enemy forces, protecting military installations, and searching for explosives.

Project Title: Washington Army National Guard (Army Aviation Support Facility 1) AASF1
Hangar Modification
Recipient: Washington Military Department
Amount: $473,000
Location: Fort Lewis, Washington

Purpose: To modify the Army National Guard aviation hangar at Gray Army Airfield, Fort Lewis to accommodate indoor maintenance and storage of National Guard aircraft displaced as additional active duty aircraft are stationed at Fort Lewis.

Importance: This funding would allow a low-cost alternative to building a new hanger or moving Washington National Guard aircraft off post.  Washington National Guard aircraft perform fire-fighting, search and rescue, emergency/disaster evacuations, and other critical missions to protect lives and property in Washington state.
