Safe and Drug Free Schools

The Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities program is the federal government’s primary initiative to prevent drug abuse and violence in and around schools.  The program awards grants by formula to state and local educational agencies and outlying areas to create programs designed to deter drug abuse and violence among elementary and secondary students.
