PROTECTING OUR NEIGHBORHOODS
 
• Congressman Cao secured $1.5 million for infrastructure improvement, criminal justice staffing, and intervention and mentoring programs on behalf of the Greater New Orleans Crime Coalition.

• Congressman Cao co-sponsored the Youth Prison Reduction through Opportunities, Mentoring, Intervention, Support, and Education Act providing more resources for “at risk” youth intervention programs, including juvenile delinquency and gang activity prevention.

• Congressman Cao voted for the Witness Security and Protection Grant Program Act to protect witnesses assisting law enforcement in solving crimes. The bill provides grants to eligible state and local prosecutors to protect witnesses to homicides, violent felonies, or serious drug offenses.

• Congressman Cao secured $2 million each for the NOPD District 7 Station House and the New Orleans Fire   Station 36 to ensure that our law enforcement officers and emergency personnel can operate in adequate facilities.

• Congressman Cao has collaborated with district attorneys, sheriffs, the United States Attorney, police chiefs, and the FBI and continues to meet with law enforcement and prosecution officials in Louisiana’s 2nd congressional district to ensure that our neighborhoods are safe places to raise our children.
