Expanding Florida's small businesses can help create new jobs and build a stronger economy.

I know Floridians are facing difficult times and that is why I developed a multi-faceted effort to help Floridians find jobs, create jobs and increase their incomes.

Our office is working to put Floridians in touch with existing programs and groups so that we can all work together toward job recovery.

This Web site is designed to provide you with easy access to information about job services and business development resources. Think of it as a one-stop shop for job and business resources.

On this site, you will find information on job fairs, workforce training, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Employers can access information about federal agencies that provide business information and assistance.

In addition to providing information for job seekers and Floridians seeking business opportunities, I will convene a statewide economic advisory board to provide information on ways people and Florida's communities can take greater advantage of existing opportunities.

Leveraging resources already available can help Florida's businesses grow.

Business growth means job growth.

Resources

STATEWIDE RESOURCE CENTERS

This new initiative designates my seven regional offices in Florida as resource centers where job seekers and potential employers can find assistance and information about federal, state and community programs.

JOB SEEKER ASSISTANCE

Floridians want to work and grow their businesses. There are a great number of resources available for both employers and job seekers. This site is working to ensure Floridians are aware of all the available opportunities. PURSUING BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

Our office will put Floridians in touch with existing programs and groups so that we can all work together toward job recovery. My office will help small businesses identify resources and opportunities, cut through bureaucratic red tape and pursue efforts that will result in job creation. Leveraging resources already available can help Florida's businesses grow. Business growth means job growth.

TAX CUTS

If we are going to grow our way out of this recession, families have to feel confident they can spend and invest more money. Floridians need more money in their pockets. These initiatives will make that happen. We need more efforts to reduce the tax burden on families, build consumer confidence, and grow the economy. My first proposal is to cut the payroll tax in half. For workers, that is essentially a three-percent pay raise. For employers, that's more money they can reinvest to grow their business and hire new workers. The end result is added job creation. Read more about this legislation here.

I hope you visit our site often to learn more about this initiative.
