HIV/AIDS Online Training Modules - HIV/AIDS is a reality in the American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities across the country; to be able to deal with this epidemic effectively it is important to increase knowledge and decrease the stigma related with this disease. The National HIV/AIDS Program is excited to provide and release this new format for learning about HIV/AIDS in AI/AN. This online training increases accessibility and convenience for our providers and consumers. It also represents transparency in the program to illuminate the messages from the community in partnership with the IHS.
The Online Search, Consultation, and Reporting (OSCAR) system is now Available! - The OSCAR system supports the IHS Director’s priorities and promotes great work in the field by identifying and sharing Best (i.e., Evidence Based) and Promising Practices, Local Efforts, Policies, and Resources among American Indian and Alaskan Native communities. OSCAR allows visitors to search for specific content; electronically submit their practice, resource, and policy information for consideration; stay up to date with current program content using a dynamic RSS feed; and, improve access to OSCAR content across the Indian Health System by adding a customized OSCAR search link on their own website.
The Physical Activity Kit (PAK) - Staying on the Active Path in Native Communities . . . a Lifespan Approach. The primary goal of the PAK is to increase the time spent in moderate to vigorous physical activity by promoting age and culturally appropriate physical activities across the life span of American Indian/Alaska Native and other communities. The PAK is one way to integrate community physical activity in clinical and publich health interventions. Download full PAK books, materials, and find training resources.
