Productivity increases 2.3% in third quarter 2010; unit labor costs decrease 0.1%.

Productivity increased 2.3 percent in the nonfarm business sector in the third quarter; unit labor costs declined 0.1 percent (seasonally adjusted annual rates). In manufacturing, productivity increased 0.6 percent; unit labor costs rose 1.0 percent.

Regional and State Employment and Unemployment (Monthly)

In October, 19 states and the District of Columbia registered over-the-month unemployment rate decreases, 14 states recorded increases, and 17 states had no change. Nonfarm payroll employment increased in 41 states and the District of Columbia, decreased in 6 states, and was unchanged in 3 states.
