  • 12/4Little Black Topsy and the Magical White Fairy Soap+

    Friday, December 3, 2010, 7:30 – 10 p.m.

LITTLE BLACK TOPSY is the classic tale of a young hero who desires a great adventure. The tale chronicles her journey as a young black woman. It weaves together theater and performance art, drawing from traditional depictions of blackness and girlhood such as in minstrel shows and childrens' stories.

Writing, directing, and starring in LITTLE BLACK TOPSY is MassArt Alumna and performance artist Cori Spencer. Her work focuses on the contentious nature of the relationship between whiteness and blackness and the desire and repulsion that swims between the color lines.
