Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney, Chair of the Joint Economic Committee (JEC) convened a hearing on the newly released employment figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).  Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-MD) presided over the hearing entitled, “The Employment Situation: May 2009,” which took place on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in Dirksen Room 106.  BLS commissioner Keith Hall testified to recent developments in the labor market.
