REP. ENGEL URGES SENATE TO REPEAL "DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL"
11/30/10Congressman Eliot Engel (D-NY-17) is urging the Senate to vote, as soon as possible, to repeal the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. Today, the Pentagon released a nine-month study about the effects of repealing this policy. The study concluded the impact of repeal would mainly be positive with serving members of the Armed Forces. Members believe they have served with homosexuals, and they had no negative effect.

REP. ENGEL VOTES TO PROTECT SENIORS' ACCESS TO DOCTORS
11/29/10Congressman Eliot Engel (D-NY-17) voted to preserve seniors' access to their doctors by temporarily fixing the way Medicare reimburses physicians. The House unanimously passed the Senate Amendments to H.R. 5712, the Physician Payment and Therapy Relief Act, which blocks the 23 percent cut in Medicare payments to doctors, scheduled to start this Wednesday, for one month, while a year-long fix is negotiated.

The Partnering to Improve Maternity Care Quality Act would ensure higher-quality maternity services, improved health outcomes for women and children, and provide better value and efficiency for patients and health providers.
