Job Summary

The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 600 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.

The Senior Software Specialist shall support implementation, upgrades, development, and daily operations of the House’s ERP PeopleSoft application (Atlas). This includes providing knowledge transfer and internal training to other team members who will help support PeopleSoft and the associated Oracle databases. The incumbent will act as a senior-level application developer and technical contributor in the implementation and operation of PeopleSoft version 8.9 and subsequent versions at the House. These skills shall be used to support configuring and developing the application to provide the best PeopleSoft business solutions for CAO customers and customer support units.

Responsibilities include day-to-day management of the system, design and development work, and interaction with other House teams (e.g., telecommunications staff, security staff, hardware/infrastructure staff, data center staff) as well as extensive involvement with integrator contractors, House Business Improvement Team, and House process owner’s staff.
 

Primary Duties:

1) Support implementation, upgrade, and operation of the PeopleSoft Financials application

2) Develop new customizations/enhancements and troubleshoot issues with existing customizations/enhancements and delivered functionality

3) Work with functional users to determine requirements, develop, test, document design and results, and follow change management procedures

4) Provide knowledge transfer and internal training to Atlas team members

5) Perform other duties as assigned
 

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.

Extensive, demonstrated experience with PeopleTools version 8.x and PeopleSoft 8.x—including Application Administration, SQR, Application Engine, Process Scheduler, Integration Broker and Application Messaging, Enterprise Portal, and PeopleSoft Workflow required.

Candidate must be able to communicate effectively and interface with other implementation and support sub-teams (e.g., functional, training, etc.) and must be able to understand functional requirements and select appropriate technical tools and solutions to meet those requirements based on PeopleSoft best practices.

Experience with PeopleSoft Financials functional modules, PeopleSoft reporting-tools (NVision, Crystal, PS Query), and PeopleSoft security administration would be value added, but are not required. Work location is in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.
