To students interested in the service academy congressional nomination process: My office will be participating in the upcoming Congressional U.S. Service Academy Information Night being hosted by Congressman Keith Ellison. This event is part of a series of academy information nights being hosted by congressional offices. Minnesota members of Congress are invited to participate and to promote the event within their districts. Interested individuals from all congressional districts are invited to attend. Below is a link to a flyer regarding the event. Please feel free to share the information about this event. Academy applicants must be U.S. Citizens at least 17 years old and not yet 23 years old on July 1st of the year he or she would enter an academy (25 years old for United States Merchant Marine Academy). If you have questions about this event or about congressional nominations to a U.S. Service Academy, please call my office at 224-9191 and speak with Connie Haddeland, my Academy Coordinator. She will be participating in the event on Monday, October 18, 2010. Details relating to requirements and application for admission to each U.S. Service Academy may be found on my congressional website: http://www.mccollum.house.gov/.
