In April 2009, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) announced the creation of the Rural America Solutions Group. Lead by Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Frank Lucas (OK-3), Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member Doc Hastings (WA-04), and Small Business Committee Ranking Member Sam Graves (MO-6), the group is focused on finding solutions to create jobs and economic opportunities while also addressing the unique challenges facing rural communities.
