If you are a veteran, and have encountered a problem with your disability compensation, pension, vocational rehabilitation, education, burial or survivor benefits or with the Veterans Healthcare Administration, we may be able to assist you.  Please know that before we are able to help, you will need to send us a letter detailing your concerns, along with a signed privacy release, and I will be glad to look into your case with these federal agencies

Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition

I regularly honor the contributions of veterans in my district with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition. For the next recognition ceremony, I will be commemorating the contributions of World War II and Korean war veterans.

In order to receive the Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition, World War II veterans must live in Oregon's 1st Congressional District and have received or be eligible for one of the following decorations:

  • American Defense Service Medal
  • American Campaign Medal
  • World War II Victory Medal
  • Women's Army Corps Service Medal
  • European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal
  • Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal

Korean War veterans must live in Oregon's 1st District and have received or be eligible for the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

To participate, you must submit an application and a copy of your service discharge document (DD214) by May 14, 2010. This award can not be given posthumously.

The recognition ceremony will be held on June 5, 2010, at a venue in the 1st Congressional District to be announced.

If you have any questions, please contact Ajah Maloney Capps in my Oregon office at 503-326-2901 or 800-422-4003.
