U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords will host a video teleconference from Washington D.C. with law enforcement agencies and business leaders on overhauling the nation's immigration laws.
The Tucson lawmaker will seek ideas and advice from the participants prior to introducing immigration-related legislation in the 110th Congress.
Representing a district that shares a 114-mile border with Mexico, Giffords has called the enactment of comprehensive immigration reform legislation her top priority.
Giffords will provide an overview of prospective immigration reform legislation and ask for comments about how to best support county, state and federal law enforcement agencies and streamline the employee identification process.
Joining the congresswoman in Tucson will be:

- Cochise County Sherriff Larry Deaver,
- Santa Cruz County Sherriff Tony Estrada,
- Border Patrol Deputy Chief Victor Manjarrez,
- Frank Siquieros, the owner of Mountain Power Electric Contractors,
- Michael Hammond, president and CEO of PICOR Commercial Real Estate Services,
- Dick Walden, president and CEO of Farmers Investment Co., and
- Nan Walden, vice president and counsel, Farmers Investment Co., and
- Sheridan Bailey, president, Ironco Enterprises
