Arizona lawmaker will discuss impact of legislation on Medicare
TUCSON – U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords on Friday will meet with her Senior and Aging Issues Advisory Council to brief them on the latest developments regarding health insurance reform.
Giffords will discuss provisions of the proposed health insurance reform legislation that is now before Congress and its potential impacts on Medicare.
Both the House and the Senate are expected to debate and vote on a health insurance reform bill within the next few weeks.
During the 90-minute discussion, the congresswoman also will provide an overview of recent congressional action to get our economy back on track and restore fiscal responsibility to the federal government.
After the meeting, Giffords will have lunch with residents of the Atria Campana del Rio Retirement Community, which is hosting the event.
