How to Enter

"An Artistic Discovery" is an annual nationwide Congressional high school art competition sponsored by the Congressional Arts Caucus and initiated by Members of Congress. In past years, more than 300 congressional offices have participated in the program. The first place winning entry from each congressional district will be displayed in the corridor tunnel leading to the U.S. Capitol Building for one year, where it will be seen by thousands of people visiting the nation's capital.

The contest is open to high school students and will be hosted in my Canadian County office. Artwork submitted to the competition must be delivered to the submission sites by noon, April 20, 2010. The winning piece will be sent to Washington, D.C. to be displayed for a year, and the winning artist will receive free airfare for three to participate in the Congressional Art Competition’s ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 17th, 2010 in Washington, D.C.

Below are some rules and guidelines for submitted artwork. For information on registration and submission locations, contact Lynne Hill in my Canadian County office at (405)373-1958.
