    • 10/16-17: White House Fall Garden Tours: The White House will open its gardens and grounds to visitors on Saturday, October 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and on Sunday, October 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Visitors can view the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, Rose Garden, Children’s Garden and the South Lawn of the White House. The White House Kitchen Garden will also be viewable from the tour route and a visual explanation will be available to help inform tourists about the elements of the garden.

    • 9/1/2010: The 7th Congressional District Jobs Fair: This event will connect community members in search of employment with employers, educators, and non-profit organizations that will provide information on job training, resume building, and other resources.  Exhibitors will cover a variety of industries including manufacturing, customer services, health services, elder and child care, adult education and more.

    • 8/7/2010: The Healthy Families Summit: I am hosting this event to connect community members with healthcare providers; insurance companies; business owners; non-profit organizations; and federal, state, and local government agencies.     • 4/3/2010: Healthcare Town Hall: As a part of my continuing effort to bring government accountability and transparency on the new health care reform to as many people as possible, I will hold a health care town hall on April 3, 2010 at Collenbrook United Church.     • 4/18/2010: Military Service Academy Day: My office will be hosting our 2010 Service Academy Day at Valley Forge Military Academy and College on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM.  Representatives from the United States Military Academy, United States Naval Academy, United States Air Force Academy, United States Merchant Marine Academy, and United States Coast Guard Academy will be on hand to discuss the Service Academies and the application process with students, parents, and guidance counselors.     • 4/19/2010: Congressional Art Competition: The2010 Congressional High School Art Competition provides a chance for some of our most talented young artists to display their abilities. Through this contest, high school students living in the 7th Congressional District may to submit their artwork and compete for the grand prize of having their art displayed in the Halls of the Capitol alongside other student winners from across the country. In addition, the 7th Congressional District winner will receive a scholarship at a prestigious institution for the arts and a local gallery owner will professionally frame the winning art work free of charge. Various forms of media are considered and category winners and “best in show” will be chosen by a board of art enthusiasts and experts. For more information, click here

    • 3/16/2010: Free Income Tax Return Assistance: Congressman Joe Sestak’s (PA-07) District Office in Media, PA will host an event, in conjunction with PathwaysPA, a non-profit organization, to offer free income tax return preparation.     • 2/1/2010: Gender Equity Act of 2010 Event: Congressman Joe Sestak will announce his "Gender Equity Act of 2010" and then lead an interactive discussion on The Shriver Report: A Woman's Nation Changes Everything and how to improve the lives of women and their families in America with representatives from the Center for American Progress, the Women's Business Development Center and Welker Real Estate.     • 2/27/2010: Working Families Resources Summit: Congressman Sestak's will host his second Working Families Resources Summit on Saturday February 27, 2010. The event will include a service fair that connects community members with government agencies, nongovernment organizations, and local resources. Exhibitors will cover a variety of subjects including housing relief, employment, health services, adult education, credit counseling, legal issues, elder and child care, Veteran benefits, and more.     January 2010
     

    • Grant Seminars: Congressman Sestak's Office will hold six sessions to assist municipal officials, first responders, organizations, and individuals with the grants and appropriations processes. These sessions will include an overview of the appropriations process and discussion on the various state and federal resources available. Attendees will receive the 3rd edition of the Pennsylvania 7th Congressional District Grants and Resource Directory, which Congressman Sestak’s staff has compiled, and will have a chance to ask related questions, and understand better how his office can assist in finding, applying for, and securing funding.
