Congressman Peter Welch is seeking funding for the following Vermont projects in the reauthorization of the Surface Transportation Act. These projects reflect his commitment to create jobs and improve the quality of Vermont's transportation infrastructure. The Congressman relied upon Vermont's regional planning commissions and the Vermont Agency of Transportation to identify the state's highest priorities.

1. $25,000,000 for the Rt. 116 Stoplight Bridge in Bristol.

2. $1,516,800 for the Portland Street Bridge in St. Johnsbury.

3. $18,000,000 for Chittenden County Transit Authority's Downtown Transit Facility.

4. $3,000,000 for the Colchester-South Hero Causeway.

5. $3,120,000 for the Lake Champlain Recreation Pathway.

6. $7,915,000 for North Country-Northeast Kingdom Rail Safety Upgrades.

7. $1,285,520 for Fairfield Road repairs in Fletcher.

8. $5,600,000 for the Federal Street Intermodal Connector between I-89 and the City of St. Albans.

9. $32,000,000 for the Morrisville Truck Route.

10. $392,000 for Thetford village enhancements.

11. $865,160 for the rehabilitation of Coventry Street in Newport.

12. $4,000,000 for the Ripley Road Bridge in Rutland.

13. $1,120,000 for the Rutland Creek Path in Rutland City.

14. $4,720,000 for the Route 14 Bridge 68 in East Montpelier.

15. $2,000,000 for Main Street in Barre.

16. $4,400,000 for Deerfield Valley Transit maintenance and administration facilities.

17. $1,550,000 for Connecticut River Transit.

18. $350,000 for the North Bridgewater Road Bridge # 23 connecting Woodstock and Bridgewater.

19. $448,544 for Route 103 in Ludlow.

20. $160,000 to build Weathersfield-Ascutney sidewalk.

21. $264,000 for Springfield Wall Street stairway

22. $176,000 for North Street culvert in Chester.

23. $1,600,000 to implement the State of Vermont Rail Improvement Project.

24. $9,000,000 for the rehabilitation of rail/highway crossings to facilitate rail travel from Chittenden County to Bennington County.
