Congressman Welch assists young Vermonters hoping to serve their country at one of the nation’s exceptional service academies.

In order to apply, Vermont students must be nominated by Congressman Welch, Senator Sanders or Senator Leahy. The deadline to seek a nomination from Congressman Welch for the class of 2015 is December 1, 2010.

To obtain a nomination, please carefully read the Instructions for a United States Service Academy Nomination, and the print out and complete the Application for U.S. Service Academy Nomination.

You must contact the admissions office of each of the academies to which you wish to apply - in addition to obtaining a nomination from your Member of Congress.

• U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York
• U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland
• U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs
• U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York
• U.S. Coast Guard Academy at New London, Connecticut (You do not need a nomination to apply to the Coast Guard Academy.)
