Inslee Requests in Surface Transportation Authorization Legislation: May 2009

The following projects were submitted by my office to be considered for funding in the upcoming surface transportation authorization bill. They are listed here in no particular order.
  • Construct conversion of Redmond Way from 160th Ave NE to Avondale Way to one through lane in each direction; center turn lane and conversion of Cleveland Street to one through lane in each direction; curb extensions; and sidewalk widening. Request amount: $5 million
  • Woodinville Duvall Road Widening to provide additional lanes, curb and gutter, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, street lighting, landscape improvements and traffic signal improvements. Request amount: $2 million
  • Construct additional capacity lanes, pedestrian improvements, bike lanes, signal improvements, intersection safety and turn movement improvements for NE 195th Street eastbound State Route 522. Request amount: $2 million
  • Design and construct road widening on Sammamish Bridge to provide additional lanes, curb and gutter, sidewalks and bicycle lanes for travel and queue storage. Request amount: $2 million
  • Construct connections to the interurban pedestrian and bicycle trail parallel to State Route 525 from mile post 0 to mile post 1.4 and install signage, markings and lighting at 164th and 184th street. Request amount: $400,000
  • Design and right of way acquisition for an interchange on State Route 522 at Paradise Lake Road. Design and construct a Westbound Peak Hour Shoulder Auxiliary Lane conversion between Fales/Echo Lake Road and Paradise Lake Road. Request amount: $19 million
  • Construct the realignment of State Route 522 from approximately Hall Road to 102nd Avenue NE near the intersection of State Route 527. Request amount: $3.4 million
  • Construct a multi-way boulevard on State Route 527 from approximately Main Street to NE 185th Street in downtown Bothell. Request amount: $4,096,200
  • Complete construction of the 116th Avenue NE Non-Motorized Improvement Project. Request amount: $1.5 million
  • Construct a dedicated eastbound right turn lane on Main Street at US 2 along with associate appurtenances. Request amount: $510,640
  • Construct additional turning and through lanes, plus other improvements including signal modifications, retaining walls, new concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk, new pavement markings, storm drainage, new illumination, and pavement modifications. Request amount: $3 million
  • Complete design, right-of-way and construction of State Route 522, Phase 1, Stage 2, form 57th Ave NE to 65th Ave NE in Kenmore, Washington. Request amount: $23,133,600
  • Design and construct a non-motorized transportation and recreational trail along an abandoned interurban rail line. Shared roadway sections will be rebuilt for safety with designated bicycle lanes along the route. Request amount: $1 million
  • Environmental review, design, right-of-way acquisition, and construction for State Route 99 Project in Shoreline, Washington. Request amount: $5 million
  • Design, construct, and implement Active Traffic Management and safety projects on I-5 southbound from 145th Street to State Route 520. Request amount: $52.3 million
  • Design, plan, and construct the relocation of the Mukilteo Multimodal Terminal. Request amount: $30 million
  • Complete design and environmental phases of Ash Way Corridor Improvements from 164th Street SW to East Gibson Road in Snohomish County, Washington. Request amount: $3 million
  • Complete design and right-of-way acquisition phases for the Poplar Way Extension Bridge Project. Request amount: $3 million
  • Complete design and right-of-way acquisition for the 35th/36th Avenue W (Maple Road to State Route 99) Improvement Project. Request amount: $2 million
  • Deploy funding for Sound Transit Clean Fuel Bus Procurement. Request amount: $8,712,000
  • Deploy funding for Community Transit Bus Replacement Hybrid Conversion. Request amount: $20 million
  • Deploy alternative fueling and recharging infrastructure in the Interstate 5 corridor in Washington State between Seattle and Everett. Request amount: $3.34 million
  • Plan, design, construct and implement Community Transit’s Swift Bus Rapid Transit II. Request amount: $10 million
  • Design and construct a non-motorized trail linking the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center with other regional trails and eventually the Town Center area of Mountlake Terrace. Request amount: $1 million
  • Construct, plan, design, and acquire right-of-way for Suquamish Way & Division Street Intersection Improvement Project. Request amount: $1.3 million
  • Plan, design and reconstruct Elders Lane in Suquamish, Washington. Request amount: $445,000
